Frequently asked questions

The essentials about TimerGuessr, the perfect-timing game. The full rules are on the how to play page.

What is TimerGuessr?

A timing game in your browser: a timer starts then hides, and you have to stop it at exactly the right moment — or guess how long a hidden duration lasted. Solo, 1v1 duels, or up to 50 players in a room.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Completely free, and no account required: a name and an avatar are all you need, whether you play alone or with others.

TimerGuessr vs TimeGuessr — what's the difference?

They are two different games. TimeGuessr is a photo game: you guess where and when a picture was taken. TimerGuessr is a stopwatch game: stopping a hidden timer at exactly the right moment. The names are close, the games are not.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, right in your phone's browser, nothing to install. You can also add TimerGuessr to your home screen and launch it like an app.

How many people can play?

Alone in practice or on the daily challenge, two in a 1v1 duel, and up to 50 players in one room in Classic format.

How is the score calculated?

Each round is worth up to 5,000 points depending on your precision. The tolerance adapts to the target duration: short targets demand millisecond precision, long ones give a little more slack.

How does the daily challenge work?

Every day, 5 rounds identical for everyone, a single attempt. Your result shares as a link: your friends play the same series and try to beat you. Playing every day keeps your streak 🔥 alive.

Is a ranked mode coming?

Yes. Player accounts (always optional) and ranked duels with a leaderboard are coming soon — today's 1v1 duel is already the foundation. Free play will stay available without an account.

What is TimerBot?

The duel practice bot: no opponent in the queue? Face 🤖 TimerBot while you wait. It is clearly labeled as a bot, with three levels — 🥉 Bronze, 🥈 Silver and 🎯 Sniper. As soon as a real player arrives, it steps aside.
