How to play TimerGuessr
TimerGuessr is a free timing game that runs in your browser, on your phone or your computer. No account to create: pick a name, pick an avatar, and play.
The idea
Everything rests on your internal clock. A timer is running, but you can't see it — you have to feel the time passing. There are two kinds of rounds:
🎯 Target time
You're shown a time, say 4.20 seconds. The timer starts, then hides right away. Stop it as close to the target as you can — one try, and no countdown to help you.
⏳ Guess the duration
The game plays out a hidden duration, then asks: how long did that last? Answer on instinct, down to the hundredth of a second.
The 🎲 Mix mode picks one of the two at random each round. Targets range from 0.3 to 20 seconds depending on the range chosen when creating the room: Fast (0.3–5 s), Classic (0.3–12 s) or Marathon (3–20 s).
Scoring
Each round is worth up to 5,000 points: the closer you are to the target, the more you score. The tolerance adapts to the duration — on a short target every millisecond counts, on a long one you get a little more slack. And if you land almost exactly on it, that's a 💯 PERFECT.
Playing solo
Solo practice puts you alone against the clock — the place to sharpen your precision. And every day, the 📅 daily challenge serves 5 rounds, the same for everyone, with a single attempt. Your result shares as a link: your friends play the exact same series and try to beat you. Come back daily to keep your streak 🔥 alive.
Playing with friends
Create a room, share the code or the link, and you're off — up to 50 players in one game, in a private room or a public room open to anyone. In Classic format everyone plays the same rounds and the best total score wins.
The 1v1 duel
The competitive format: each round gives 1 point to the player closest to the target, first to 5 points wins the duel. A perfect tie gives no one a point, and a PERFECT is worth 2 — enough to turn a match around. The 🎾 “win by two” option adds tennis-style suspense: at 4-4, you have to break. And if the duel drags on, round 15 settles it: the leader wins, sudden death if it's tied.
No one in the queue? Take on 🤖 TimerBot while you wait — an openly declared bot, never disguised as a player, with three levels: 🥉 Bronze, 🥈 Silver and 🎯 Sniper. As soon as a real player shows up, it steps aside.
